Preparation steps

Cook the rice in salted water according to the package. Drain and keep warm.

Mince the garlic. In a bowl, mix the minced beef with garlic, cumin, salt and pepper. Shape into even meatballs.

Heat oil in a large skillet. Brown the meatballs 5 minutes, turning to colour all sides.

Pour in the crushed tomatoes. Lower to medium heat and simmer 15 minutes until the sauce thickens and the meatballs are cooked through.

Serve the kefta and sauce over the hot rice.
